25 years old man allegedly butchers nurse girlfriend .
A 25 years old man named Elisha is accused of killing his girlfriend in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State . The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, around 7:00 am at the suspect’s residence near Beulah International Nursery and Primary Schools on Atiku Abubakar Way, Uyo. The motive behind the murder remains unclear.
When reporters arrived at the scene, they found a crowd of residents gathered, blocking traffic. Both the victim’s body and the suspect were taken to the police headquarters at Ikot Akpan Abia. Armed policemen were present to maintain order. According to an anonymous source, the suspect and his girlfriend, a nurse, were heard arguing before the situation escalated.
Despite attempts by neighbors to intervene, the suspect allegedly killed the victim and attempted to hide in the ceiling before being apprehended by the police. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect is currently undergoing interrogation and investigation.
