Ghana Police Reveal Shocking Details on Mysterious Death of KNUST Graduate at Takoradi Hotel
In a case that has captivated the nation, the Ghana Police Service has provided a detailed update on the mysterious death of Lois Abena Koranteng, a 24-year-old KNUST graduate found dead in a Takoradi hotel swimming pool on June 8. The public’s suspicions of foul play were intensified by the hotel’s inability to provide CCTV footage due to non-functional cameras. However, police have confirmed that no signs of assault were found on her body.
The autopsy, conducted in the presence of her grieving family, determined that Lois died from asphyxia, severe pulmonary edema, and drowning. Addressing the family’s distress, Inspector-General of Police George Dampare personally apologized for the limited police engagement to date. He reassured them that the investigation remains active and pledged ongoing updates on any new findings. The tragic incident, initially perceived as suspicious, now points towards an unfortunate accident, though the investigation continues to ensure all questions are answered.
