Man Arrested for Stabbing Friend T0 Death with Scissors at Bepoh

A 23-year-old man, Appiah Kwasi, was allegedly stabbed to death with scissors at Bepoh near Appiatse in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region.

The incident occurred on Friday, November 15, 2024, during a school gala competition grand finale between Ehyireso Methodist JHS and Bepoh D/A JHS at the Ehyireso Junction Park.

A Day of Celebration Turns Deadly

The day, meant to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, took a dark turn when a misunderstanding erupted between the deceased, who hailed from Ehyireso, and supporters of Bepoh D/A JHS.

The dispute arose over a penalty awarded to Bepoh D/A JHS, which equalized the score to 1-1 in the second half. Despite the tension, Ehyireso Methodist JHS emerged victorious in a penalty shootout.

Following the controversial win, chaos ensued. One of the suspects from Bepoh, known locally as D-Black, allegedly attacked Appiah with scissors, inflicting multiple stab wounds.

The severity of the injuries led to Appiah being rushed to the Ehyireso Nkwanta Health Centre. Due to the critical nature of his condition, he was later transferred to the Bogoso Municipal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The community is reeling from the shock of this violent act. The body of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary at Bogoso for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Police Command has swiftly acted, arresting D-Black and his accomplices. Investigations into the incident are currently underway.

This incident has sparked a call for justice and a closer look at the underlying issues that led to such a tragic outcome.

The community and authorities are working together to ensure that those responsible are held accountable and that measures are put in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
