EDHUB Social Media Scandal: Assistant Pastor Accused of Embezzlement
Ghanaian gospel artist Diana Asamoah has taken legal action leading to the apprehension of her assistant pastor, Reverend Kwame Asante. The pastor, who also serves as her assistant, allegedly stole GH₵4,000 from her mobile money account. In a video shared on social media by EDHUB, Diana Asamoah expressed her disappointment and revealed that this wasn’t the first time the pastor had committed such an offense.
She commended the digital initiatives led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, which facilitated the process of managing her finances and potentially safeguarded her life. The suspect was seen in handcuffs at the Tesano Police Station
Madam Asamoah, the victim of the theft, expressed her dismay, recounting the pastor’s previous transgressions and her forgiveness. “Despite his role in speaking in tongues and occasionally leading the congregation, this is not his first offense,” she disclosed.
The suspect, identified as Reverend Kwame Asante, was captured on video in handcuffs at the Tesano Police Station, confessing to the theft after observing Madam Asamoah’s PIN during a transaction.
Madam Asamoah voiced concerns over her safety, suggesting that without intervention, the pastor’s actions could have escalated to life-threatening measures. She praised the Vice President for his role in advancing digitalization, which she believes not only protected her finances but also her life.
A staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party, Diana Asamoah, has been vocal in her endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential campaign for the 2024 election, linking her personal experiences with the broader political narrative.
