CCTV Captures Four Suspects in Broad Daylight Theft of GHC20,000 Worth of Fabrics in Nima
In a brazen daylight robbery, four individuals posing as customers executed a daring heist in Nima, stealing over GHC20,000 worth of fabrics from a local shop. The shop’s CCTV footage, which has since gone viral, captures the entire operation. Three elderly women cleverly concealed the fabrics within their clothing, while a male accomplice distracted the staff, allowing the group of four to escape undetected.
The viral footage has sparked widespread outrage on social media. @CHAMP_OFFICIAL1 remarked, “Nima is crazy; I’m not surprised by this.” @AEmmanuel8998 pointed out the broader societal issue, stating, “And sometimes I laugh when people point fingers at politicians; they come from our homes and neighborhoods. Our thievery attitude is making a lot of people unemployed because when you open a business, the same people crying for jobs will collapse it.”
Other users offered advice on prevention, with @ennkasa suggesting, “Don’t let theft drain your profits! Create a loss prevention team to safeguard your store. By monitoring security cameras and swiftly responding to incidents, you can protect your hard-earned money and create valuable jobs. Being PROACTIVE is cheaper than these REACTIVE methods.” Meanwhile, @DADDYSDOLLA lamented the challenges of dealing with such crimes, adding, “When you stop them from entering your shop with this kind of dressing, they will be the same people to attack you or claim they won’t buy from your shop again. It’s a no-win situation.”
Fortunately, the quick spread of the CCTV footage led to the identification and arrest of the four suspects including the male who was also seen with stolen phones and laptop . They have since been handed over to the police for further investigation, providing some relief to the devastated shop owner and the wider community.
