The 34th edition of the Totals Energy African cup of Nations was scheduled to the place this year but was eventually rescheduled to 2024 due to certain concerns raised by hosts , Cote D’ivoire .

Cote D’ivoire who’ll be hosting the tournament next year have launched and outdoored their mascot . This mascot appears to be a very happy looking elephant named “AKWAABA” which means , “You’re Welcome” in the Ghanaian local dialect , Twi .

This has come as a shock to many Ghanaians and has sparked reactions on social media . Cote D’ivoire is a francophone country which means the country thrives on the French language .

Many believe the neighboring African country might have been inspired due to its strong ties with Ghana .
