Attack On Professor Frimpong Boateng Over ‘vanished’ Excavators

Charles Bissue, former secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), has accused Professor Frimpong Boateng, former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, for failing to tell Ghanaians the truth  about the missing 500 excavators.

He claims that Professor  Frimpong Boateng is hiding the truth in order to clear away his name from the illegal mining (galamsey) dilemma.

The former minister recently dismissed allegations that 500  excavators disappeared from state confiscation during his tenure.

According to the heart surgeon, the allegations were unsubstantiated and simply a hoax leveled against him to effectuate his removal from the government headed by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

In his exclusive interview with GBC News on March 10, 2023, he recounted how members of his own political party thwarted him internally. Among them were the people of Jubilee House, who to this day indulge in galamsey  (illegal artisanal mining). activity. “Somebody threw it in the media room to mark something for Frimpong Boateng. What do you do with 500 excavators?” he asked.

However, Charles Bissue refuted Professor Frimpong Boateng’s allegations, calling him a liar and claiming that he was involved in illegal mining activities (galamsey) while working for the government.

In his March 13, 2023 interview with Okay FM, Bissue explained:
“When the Garamsey issue arose, I declined to allow the investigation because I did not want to interfere with the investigation’s operations.

“But as for the miners… I wasn’t in the country the day Professor Frimpong Boateng went to this interview and claimed that 500 miners were missing.

so I told him I called you.

“And said to the National Security Council, Hajia Alima Mahama and Hon Dapaah. The numbers were recorded because Dapaah inspected the excavator before taking it to Accra.
He replied that he knew what he was doing. He made such a statement four years before him, but now he is making this  up, which is which?

“I wrote a letter and copied the president and all the ministers involved. I would like to inform you that I have resigned to investigate this matter, and that is the fact. I even threatened to write the letter because the professor claimed I embarrassed him.

“In the meantime, he was giving excavators to the people he worked with. I didn’t talk about it, but I want them to do their research and get the actual facts.

“…Then you came along and claimed that it was the people of Jubilee House who made Galamsey, and he made Galamsay too. “Professor Frimpon Boateng, I say he did Galamsey. I worked with him so I can prove it. Therefore, I can defend whatever I say.”
