The Nkwatia Divisional Police Command has taken five of the suspects into custody, while the remaining three are on the run.

Attempts to speak with the headmaster, James Affadu, were unsuccessful, but he confirmed the incident in an audio recording intercepted by Onua News.

The assault reportedly took place on Sunday, October 6. Due to the headmaster’s absence at the time, there was a delay in reporting the case to the police.

The school’s disciplinary committee has since dismissed all eight male students involved and reported the case to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for further investigation.

The victim’s mother, Madam Owusua, shared her daughter’s ordeal during an interview on the Yensempa show on Onua FM, Wednesday October 16. She revealed that her daughter had called her, complaining of illness and urging her to come to the school urgently. Upon arriving on Monday, October 14, her daughter recounted the traumatic experience.

Madam Owusua immediately reported the case to the Mpraeso Police Station, leading to the arrest of the five male students.

She stated that her daughter’s condition has improved after receiving medical attention, but she is calling on the GES to thoroughly investigate the incident and ensure justice is served.

This incident has sparked outrage and calls for stricter measures to protect students and prevent such heinous acts in schools.
